Private Sailing Charters and Sailing Lessons - Annapolis, Chesapeake Bay
Full Day Charter - 2 person minimumYour cruise begins at 9:30AM with a brief boat orientation, safety instructions, and level of chosen participation. After which we will depart from the marina under auxiliary power and proceed via the South River to the Chesapeake Bay. When wind conditions are favorable to our destination we will set the sails and experience the “magic moment of sailing”. Around noon we will find a sheltered cove to anchor and have lunch. This is a time for swimming or just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. After lunch we will weigh anchor and cruise back to the Bay for more sailing; returning to the marina at approximately 4:30PM. A picnic style lunch, snacks, and beverages (soda, iced tea and water) are included as part of the sailing experience.
Half Day Ch
arter - 2 person minimumWe offer a morning cruise from 9:00AM to 12:00pm or an afternoon cruise from 1:00PM to 4:00PM. All cruises begin with a brief boat orientation, safety instructions, and level of chosen participation. After this we will depart from the marina under auxiliary power and proceed via the South River to the Chesapeake Bay. When wind conditions are favorable to our destination we will set the sails and experience the “magic moment of sailing”. Snacks, and beverages (soda, iced tea and water) are included as part of the sailing experience.
Sunset Charter - 2 person minimumThis cruise begins at 6:00 PM with the boat orientation, safety instructions and chosen level of participation. Due to the time of day this is usually a more calm and relaxing sailing experience. We serve light refreshments and supply soda, iced tea, water and ice. By special request the captain may permit alcoholic beverages (BYOB) for special occasions. Enjoy the beauty of the sunset as we sail westward on the return to the dock. Please note: The length of this cruise and the return time will be determined by the time of sunset.
Sailing Instruction on large boats (38') can be arranged by appointment:We currently offer three courses, “Introduction to Sailing”, “Fundamentals of Sailing” and “Bareboat Chartering”.
INTRO -This course is designed for the new sailor who wants to learn the basic techniques and vocabulary of sailing. You will learn about rigging (standing and running) the operating systems, and types of sailboats. You will have the opportunity to drive the boat (under sail and power), set and drop sails, set and weigh anchor.
FUNDAMENTALS - This is a more comprehensive course focusing on the skills necessary to safely sail a cruising boat in moderate conditions on the Chesapeake Bay. You will learn rules of the road, getting under way, departure and arriving, sailing straight and true, basic knots, and chart reading.
Bareboat Chartering - This instruction is tailored to the more experienced sailor who is interested in extended cruising and chartering their own boat. This will include weather forecasting, electrical and water systems, diesel engine maintenance, anchoring, navigation (including GPS), heavy weather sailing, man overboard recovery, docking and maneuvering the boat under power.
